Renovation and furnishing of a children’s home in Serbia

Nineteen Serbian unaccompanied children and youths from broken families live in a sad environment without toys, without communication and information media, long used to the fact that society is not interested in them. When Samir from Borderfree Association visited the state-run children’s home in Belgrade, he was shocked by the miserable condition of the rooms, the peeling plaster throughout the house, the ruined furniture and the lack of furnishings.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we have already painted the rooms, laid new floors, installed doors and bought toys and a television for the children’s home. This support has already made a very tangible contribution to the well-being of the children and young people.

Thanks to crowdfunding, even more became possible: with 5,000 Swiss francs, we planned to complete the renovation and buy new furniture. However, we received almost 7’000 francs in donations! In addition to the planned renovations, we will also be able to buy new clothes and toys for the children and young people with this great amount – that’s wonderful!

Thank you for your great support in providing the forgotten and abandoned children with a dignified environment!
